BEDROOM NO. 2 - STEP 5 [ARTWORK]

Time for a brief chat on ARTWORK for my bedroom!

I was recently gifted this fabulous set of framed floral needlepoints from a close friend. She was overseeing the sale of Herbert's estate, an elderly gentleman with an impeccable sense of style and the most fascinating collections!

I practically squealed with delight when I first hung these pretty needlepoints! The yellow, reddish-orange and purple flowers tied in beautifully with the bedroom's colour palette. And, I love how these pieces play off of the other accents in the room - like the mirror and toss cushion I shared with you all the other day!

These beauties didn't cost me a penny, but I smile every time I pass by them. Isn't that the kind of reaction art should evoke? Which art pieces in your home brings you the most joy? Would love to hear all about them!

  1. What a wonderful gift ... the frames themselves are incredible! I think art can evoke many emotions - but in my home I want it to make me happy and make me smile when I look at it as well! Right now I am longing for a large canvas by Michelle Armas - now that would make me happy!!! :D xo Sherri (P.S. finally following - sorry it took me so long to get over here!)

  4. Those are really lovely! Subtle florals always add a cheery touch, I think. And those frames dress them up perfectly!

  7. Oh these are lovely. I really have to put art work up. One of the few things I have managed to put up is a small still life in the kitchen that an aunt painted. It definitely puts a smile on my face and reminds me that I come from a line of creative souls :-)
